So maybe I just have sugar on my mind....two posts back to back on cakes? But I just had to go into more detail on this new vendor I've found.
The owner of Wicked Cakes, Nicole McGarry, is not only responsive (which always makes me immediately like someone) but such a nice person. We are only email friends since we somehow missed each other at the last wedding. But I can tell I like her already!
I was especially intrigued by Nicole's background (computer engineering...what?). And now she runs a cake business! It's so cool to see someone doing what they are passionate about even if it means going in a completely different direction. She has always been a baker, and decided (just a couple years ago) to fine-tune her decorative skills and develop her recipes.
And now she's been in business for over a year!
Nicole loves being a part of her client's big celebration, and is honored to be able to create a centerpiece for happy occasions. One of her favorite parts is delivering the cake.....and I bet that IS fun! It's kinda like being a flower delivery person - everyone is happy to see you! And personally, I would be very excited as soon as the sugar arrived (there I go again....sugar on the brain).
Check out Wicked Cakes online.
.......and I think I'll go eat some M&Ms now.

If you haven't seen or heard of Merry Maps yet, you have been missing out! These super fun and creative maps would be such a great way to personalize your wedding even more. Besides sticking them in with the invitations, you could even use them as save the dates or additions to the welcome bags for the out of town guests. AND they would make a great keepsake from your special day.....this stuff is art!
Owner and designer, Daley Harris, is not only talented, but just plain cool. I got to work with her at camp back in the day and could not say enough great things about her. She would be such a joy to work with for your wedding or special event.
She started her company in the spring of 2009 after drawing a few maps for her sister's wedding. They were such a hit with the guests that everyone started asking for orders. I wish I could have used her for my wedding!

It doesn't stop here. She even does invitations, wine labels, and menu cards. Check out Merry Maps online for more samples. I know you would just LOVE working with Daley!

What better way to start off the vendor blogs than with an awesome store owned and operated by two of my sweet friends! Bella Bridesmaid is a quaint and inviting boutique for bridesmaid dresses (and more!) only in select cities. It was opened in San Antonio in September of 2009 by Cayce and Kim, bringing a much-needed resource to brides in the area.
Kim told me how they had both been to so many weddings with the traditional long polyester taffeta dress (which is fine). But "it sounded so wonderful to offer modern re-wearable silk cocktail dresses in the colors of the rainbow." Their favorite part about owning this store is being able to offer such an amazing experience to brides and bridesmaids. Through their appointment only scheduling, each bride gets their full attention. "It's a place where we would have loved to have taken our friends....a sparkling little boutique with champagne, beautiful dresses, and brilliant customer service."
They carry various designer lines, including Lulakate, Alix and Kelly, and Amsale. And they aren't limited to just bridesmaid dresses, but also carry flower girl dresses, some informal wedding gowns, and a beautiful selection for mothers of the bride and groom. You can even find some accessories there as well. I already have a bride who found her bridesmaid dresses at Bella for her wedding this fall. I can't wait to see what she picked!

I just love these two girls and wish there store was around when I got married. I would have loved not only having their awesome selection to pick from, but also getting their amazing service and expertise. Check them out and tell them we sent you!
