The reception....

An afternoon of laughter, dancing, sweet toasts, and good grub.  If I didn't know any different, I would have thought every guest there was part of one huge family.  That's just how it felt....very laid-back and fun.  We even had some good laughs on the golf course with a mini photo shoot.  What a fun couple!

What a joy it was to photograph the wedding of one of the daughters of such a fun family!  I got to know the Troups while taking family pics last September of all the "kids"...one of the most entertaining shoots I've ever had!

When I heard Breanne was getting married and they were looking into hiring me to photograph it, I was thrilled with the idea of spending more time with them!  Beautiful Breanne and Ryan were married at the GORGEOUS Incarnate Word chapel in San Antonio.  And when I say gorgeous, that doesn't even do it justice.  The architecture and details were incredible.  It made for a beautiful setting for their wedding to take place.

We have officially made our first debut in a magazine.  The recent wedding of Kristina & Dave (see part 1, part 2, part 3 on the blog) was shown in the latest issue of San Antonio Weddings magazine!  How cool is that?  And I feel like I know celebrities now :)

kuntz wedding published.jpgWe also have photos from Cynthia and Bobby's wedding featured as well!

Two weddings in one magazine!  I'm honored to have photos in there, but really just excited for these couples.  So fun!

I loved this whole wedding.  It had a great mix of natural beauty, fun people, a laid-back atmosphere, and well, love!  From the first sight, to the ceremony, to toasts and first dances....it was very cool.

The reception was held in and around a large barn built just in time for the wedding.  The lighting and decor really warmed up the huge metal building and made it the perfect spot for a ranch wedding reception.  Tracy and her crew from the French Connection did an awesome job!

The ceremony took place at the water's edge, on a dock built just for this special day.  The view was perfect, the weather just right, and the occasion memorable.

The maid of honor provided all of the ceremony music, playing her fiddle as she walked down the aisle.  And both bride and groom were walked down by both of their parents.  It was a sweet ceremony and I loved seeing the participation of the guests.  There was even a mini canon fired at the end (courtesy of the groom's uncle)!

I love that this couple got married on the groom's family's ranch.  It made it so much more personal and relaxed.  When I showed up, I was almost thrown off a little by how calm and laid-back everyone was.  The family and close friends were all hanging out around the house and on the porch just having a good time and enjoying quality time together.  No one was rushing or scurrying around to finish last minute details.  They were all so chill!

That is one of the coolest things about your wedding day.  You get to have all your closest friends and family in one place to celebrate with you.  That rocks!

I loved the way Dave looked at Kristina.  You could tell he is crazy about her.  I'm pretty sure he never took his eyes off her....but who would?  She looked awesome!

From the first meeting I had with Sarah, I knew I would love working with her.  She is genuine, sweet, funny, and beautiful!  I figured Darius would have to be pretty cool to snag a girl like this.  And when I met him for their engagement session, my guess was right.  He's a stud.

They have great friends and family that had me cracking me up the whole day.  I don't think I've ever met a funnier group of groomsmen.  Let's be honest, most guys dread getting all dressed up and taking a million pictures in a tux.  But these guys were awesome....never a single complaint and always ready to do whatever.   I was so entertained by them just hanging out together that I would forget I was supposed to be taking pictures.  I always like meeting the friends of the couple because it says a lot about them....and it just confirmed my initial thoughts on these two.

I loved so many pictures from this wedding that I had to spread it out over 3 posts this time.  I guess that's a good thing!

The ceremony was held on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Texas hill country.  Along with the perfect weather, it couldn't have been a prettier ceremony.  I love when the weather cooperates like that!

I loved this wedding at the Serengeti Resort.  They had all kinds of exotic animals, and I'm pretty sure if you asked Sarah she could tell you all their names too!  She kept referring to "Clyde" all morning, and I couldn't figure out who the heck he was.  Yeah, definitely the camel.  We even tried to get them in some of the shots, but they weren't feeling photogenic, so we settled for just getting them in the background.  The ostriches, on the other hand, were very friendly....or just hungry.  They sure had their eyes on the bouquets.  But who wouldn't?  They were so pretty!

I also loved the bride's dress.  She looking awesome that day, and also in her bridals a few months ago.  Just gorgeous!

One of my favorite things about this wedding was seeing the beautiful girls and their pretty dresses & flowers set against a natural background (especially with all the wildlife).  I love that contrast.

matt samii guys golf cart.jpgPlease tell me you laughed at that ostrich.  Every time I see him, I crack up.  Those things are just so weird.

I was very entertained by these groomsmen as well.  They even had me convinced one of the guys was a CIA agent (yes, I'm very gullible).  Matt has some funny friends.

Part 2 coming up tomorrow...stay tuned!

What better way to start off the vendor blogs than with an awesome store owned and operated by two of my sweet friends!  Bella Bridesmaid is a quaint and inviting boutique for bridesmaid dresses (and more!) only in select cities.  It was opened in San Antonio in September of 2009 by Cayce and Kim, bringing a much-needed resource to brides in the area.

Kim told me how they had both been to so many weddings with the traditional long polyester taffeta dress (which is fine).  But "it sounded so wonderful to offer modern re-wearable silk cocktail dresses in the colors of the rainbow."  Their favorite part about owning this store is being able to offer such an amazing experience to brides and bridesmaids.  Through their appointment only scheduling, each bride gets their full attention.  "It's a place where we would have loved to have taken our friends....a sparkling little boutique with champagne, beautiful dresses, and brilliant customer service."

They carry various designer lines, including Lulakate, Alix and Kelly, and Amsale.  And they aren't limited to just bridesmaid dresses, but also carry flower girl dresses, some informal wedding gowns, and a beautiful selection for mothers of the bride and groom.  You can even find some accessories there as well.  I already have a bride who found her bridesmaid dresses at Bella for her wedding this fall.  I can't wait to see what she picked!

The Texas hill country is such a great backdrop for pictures.  I met up with Martha, Jason, and his kids (Peyton and Parker) at the JW Marriott Resort a few weeks ago.  And yes, it's JW Marriott...not to be confused with the regular Marriott.  Why they are different, I don't know....but apparently they are pretty particular about their name.

Anyway, so super cute couple here was so easy to photograph.  They are obviously a gorgeous couple, but also just so easy-going and laid-back.  Love that!

I came across this picture and laughed.  I love how that ostrich is just hanging out, listening to the girls chat (probably hoping for food).  There were multiple times it looked like it was going to snag a nearby bouquet while the girls were posing for pics.  Those things aren't shy!

You can tell from this first photo that good times were had this past Saturday at the Marquardt Ranch.  This wedding party rocked, and they had me laughing the whole night.  And I love people that make me laugh!  The type of friends you have can say a lot about a person.....so Sarah and Darius must be pretty cool.  But I already knew that.

I'm so thankful for these two and getting to witness this awesome night for them.  Their faces said it all....they are crazy about each other.  What a special night.

And, of course, more coming in a few weeks.

After a somewhat hectic experience for everyone just trying to get to the place, Sarah still looked stunning.  Even with the construction and detours that sent me almost in the wrong direction, it was well worth it.  I LOVE the location (it was actually where my own bridals were going to be until we got there and I started melting......outdoor bridals in San Antonio in July = bad idea).  But thankfully it was a beautiful day for Sarah's bridals.

I had to put a bunch on here because I just couldn't narrow them down anymore.  So many I love that I wanted to include....
