This post is LONG overdue....

The kids in this family were some of my very first subjects when I started doing photography (professionally).  And mom here was AWESOME, and brought me a TON of clients right away.  I will be forever thankful for that great jump-start into the photography business.

blue door logo.jpgI shot these photos sometime this summer (can't even remember when the session actually took place!)...but I remember how hot and sunny it was.  Thankfully, they were all so easy-going and patient with me as I made them sit and wait in the shade of a building (for awhile) so we could get a few shots out in the grass once a cloud went over us.  Let's just say it took a little while.  The clouds weren't my friends that day....neither was the sun.  But we still managed to get some awesome shots of this cuuuuuute family.

Officially Day 2 of the new blog.  Just wanted to do a little intro post about what is to come.  We may still have a few background glitches here and there, but we're SO excited to have a fresh, totally unique look to the blog!  The awesome folks at Into the Darkroom designed this for us.  Not only are they great to work with, but have great ideas of their own.  We're so pleased with the result and excited about what's happening over the next few weeks.

We've got wedding photos, several bridal portraits, babies, families, engagements...all coming over the next few weeks.  We're so ready to finally get to blog about all of these (since most took place even up to 6 weeks ago)!  And then more new stuff will be coming along at the same time.  We will even debut 2 fun projects we've been working on this summer.  One little project, and one bigger....funnier...."project".  Well, we'll see about how "funny" it is.  I just know I'll be laughing pretty hard.

Enough of the suspense....they will come in time.  Just keep checking back in (Monday thru Friday) for daily updates and recent work.  We like to take weekends off around here.  I mean, being a mom you don't really get weekends off EVER..............it's the little things.

And be looking for more on Christmas sessions coming up next week.  We've already booked several dates even though we haven't officially announced that we're booking yet (some of y'all are eager to get this planned....I love it).  We will be scheduling these during October and early November.  So get out your calendars and get ready to claim your date!!

Also, Cyndea will be blogging on here as well.  So y'all will be hearing more from the other side of Peacock Photography......yea!

And please, PLEASE let us know what you think about the new blog.  We would love to hear some feedback from y'all!

We love family!  It is so important to us in our own lives and we cherish the ones we have been blessed with.  Seeing the relationships between mother and son, father and daughter, siblings, grandparents....all so cool and so different.  We have a billion family pictures from our childhood that are priceless.  It was always the first thing I would grab in a fire...my old photo boxes.  Now it would be hard drives (but after my son, the cat, and the dogs, of course!)  I love the idea of passing down family pictures through generations.  Some of my favorites show the interaction between different family members.  Seeing real life is very cool.
