Now for a few favorites of the awesome girls who came over to hang out and make Valentines…..while consuming large quantities of sugar.  I had SO much fun with them.  And I loved photographing each of them at the end.  They are all such pretty girls!

Meet Kerry… a senior at Villanova University studying nursing. I’ve known Kerry since we ran around the neighborhood together on “ice days”, played behind the bleachers at our brothers’ baseball games and swam every summer day at Barton Springs. She is one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. I was so honored to capture these photos of her!

Meet beautiful Kathryn… a girl who spends her days living on lake L.B.J. and dreaming of her bright future at U.T. (hook ‘em!). Her sweet nature made these photos fun to capture her gentle smile and also a little spunk :). I love this lake and grew up going here with a good friend of mine (Kathryn’s cousin) so it was such a great retreat to drive out of Austin and hang out with this gorgeous girl for a little bit!

Here are photos from the mini sessions that I got to do with each of the girls. What a fun opportunity to get to know each one… and they are all seriously gorgeous girls inside and out. Loved getting to hear their stories and dreams for the future!

Photographing seniors is one of my favorite things to do. It’s such a sweet and pivotal time in their lives and I feel it is so rewarding to capture! Last year, Cat and I got to do a fun tea party shoot with a group of senior girls. So this fall I talked with my awesome cousin Sara and her mom, my aunt Susie (who I collaborate with on many crazy ideas), about doing a vintage-y picnic with some of her friends at their family lake house. Needless to say, we had to make it happen!

Susie and her good friend Ronne made all the wonderful treats of cupcakes stacked on cake platters and simple sandwiches wrapped in muslim and ribbon. Coke bottles and apples in wire locker baskets contributed to the day with some wonderful vintage fabrics. Sweet little flower arrangements using little berries from the near by trees finished it off!

Kamaryn is one special senior! We decided to do her portraits at her family’s cabin on lake Austin where she grew up swimming, wake boarding, playing and learning to be awesomely Austin-y. It was such a treat for me to drive out to this beautiful little spot and go out on their boat and get a little wet all for “work” :).

A varsity basketball player, writer and dreamer and wake boarder– Kamaryn is a girl of sooo many talents. We took this time to highlight these things are significant to her… and show off her amazing hair! Do you see this curl and freckle combo? Driving out on the boat and taking some photos in the water was fun for us both and we ended the shoot with Kamaryn’s graceful plunge into the lake.

Sara is my beautiful, wonderful cousin and I can’t believe she’s all grown up!  This shoot was probably one of my favorites ever because Sara and I talked about doing it at two places that are very dear to her and to our family.

Every year our family, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, friends and whoever else happens to tag along get to go to the Frio River down in Leakey, Texas and just chill by the river. This is such a special time for us to all regroup and just be.  Sara is an expert at this as she has mastered the art of simply loving life.  We also got to get some shots with her guitar– music is Sara, Sara is music :).

Another thing that is so close to Sara’s heart is riding.  So we got up early a couple days later and got some of Sara and the horse she rides, Kinetic.  He’s kind of a character, but Sara is so great with him and he’s just gorgeous.  I was so honored to be a part of this time of Sara’s life!

Kate and I loved photographing these girls.  They are all so cute and fun to hang out with.

Doing mini shoots of each girl after the tea party was a fun bonus.  Each girl had her own story and some had fun “props” they brought with them.  It was great getting to know them all just a little bit more.  Check out these beauties…

Kate and I had the pleasure of photographing a super cool group of senior girls a few weeks ago.  The idea was brought on by a senior named Taylor, who asked if we could do something fun like this for a shoot.  After some brainstorming and planning with Taylor and Kate, the tea party idea emerged.  It was a huge success and so fun for the girls to dress up, hang out, eat great food baked by Taylor…and just fellowship as their senior year is coming to an end.  We also took photos of each girl that we will show off in part 2.

A HUGE thank you to Kate for contributing some much stuff to the shoot and then pulling the whole thing off after we hit obstacle after obstacle :)  And thanks also to Taylor and the girls for all of their help!

Still more to come…

I know I should be posting part 2 of Jennifer & Casey’s wedding…..eek.  But I’m so behind!  Hopefully I will get that posted this afternoon.

But for now, a peek from a recent shoot…
