It’s always so fun (and an honor!) to have our work featured on a wedding blog….especially one of our favorites! Check out the Southern Weddings blog here to see our fun Fiesta shoot.
Thank you SW girls for the feature!
It was a beautiful, laid-back day. They had an early ceremony, a casual lunch, and nice afternoon break……and then the party began. The band was rockin’ and the St. Patty’s Day accessories were a hit.
Courtney and Cole, we had a blast documenting your special day, and we are so excited for all your years ahead!
A few words from the bride….
Tell us about finding your wedding dress. My mom, grandmother and I had made a day of shopping for a dress. After trying a few on, I realized I wanted a lace dress. We had several appointments but weren’t having much luck so I called one last place at the end of the day to see if they could squeeze us in last minute. They could, so we rushed over there. We walked in and there it was on the mannequin. I said out loud, “that’s it, that’s my dress.” Both my mom and grandmother were skeptical until I walked out with it on. I tried on some others just to make sure but had to put that dress back on at the end. One day and we were done!
What were some of your favorite details? Floyd as the grooms cake, our cowboy boots, the outside lighting, the cigars.
What was the funniest moment of the day? I don’t think as many people noticed this as I thought at the time, but I had a Kleenex in my hand at the ceremony. When it was time to step up to the altar and say our vows, I tried to slip my kleenex into Cole’s tux pocket as discreetly as possible. Much to my chagrin, his pocket was sewn shut and we did a little back and forth before he took it from me and put it in his pants pocket. What took probably 3 seconds felt like 5 minutes :) Oh and my brothers on the dance floor was pretty hysterical. They were totally into it and having a blast. I laugh every time I think about it.
What was the most memorable moment? There are so many! Getting ready in the morning, the cab ride to the church with my dad, the street fair in La Villita, the first dances, celebrating with all our friends and family. The whole day was memorable :)

A big THANK YOU to Style Me Pretty Texas for the feature on Megan & Andrew’s wedding at Barr Mansion! Kate and Megan did an awesome job putting together the sweet and simple details of this pretty wedding, and I’m so happy to see their hard work recognized! Check it out here.
They met through Lauren’s sister. She claims he didn’t notice her the first time they met.
I can’t imagine that being the case with this beautiful girl and her sweet West Texas accent.
She makes him laugh, and loves it when he can’t stop laughing. Her sweet and caring spirit is a perfect compliment to his outgoing and adventurous personality. I saw these characteristics in both of them while we climbed WAY high on a maybe-not-so-safe old bridge. I’ve never had a fear of heights….but I may have developed one that day. Well worth it though!
Dave and I spent all weekend on projects around the house. The list is never-ending, but we love it. There is something so satisfying about using your own blood, sweat, and tears to fix up your house. The landscaping has been taking forever and we have along way to go. But after finishing project 3 of about 15, we are seeing results! Hallie & Sitte joined in the fun yesterday, so I brought out my camera for a few pics instead of the camera phone.
My little gardener was very helpful.
Anyone who knows San Antonio, has heard of Fiesta. It’s 11 days of celebration in honor of Texas’ Independence. There are parades, parties, and cascarones galore. And the food is awesome. It is a REALLY fun time of year to live in this great city!
Since this is one of the most anticipated series of events all year (that we LOVE….have I mentioned that?), we decided to do a Fiesta-inspired shoot.
Check out these fun colors and festive decor to kick of the first day of Fiesta. We hope all you San Antonians enjoy this next week! Viva!
