So I made an amazing discovery this morning.  I found photos from a day trip to a wildlife ranch earlier this year that I forgot about.  This was one of our last "activities" as a family of three.  And Travis LOVED it.  We drove along a trail with all kinds of animals coming up to the car (they are trained to know you will be feeding them from your window).

I left my camera at home that day (grrr), but thankfully the gift shop had this awesome disposable camera :)  I was having a hard time dealing with the fact that I couldn't zoom, focus, change a single setting....but I love them still.

The only thing I didn't love (but still kinda did) was seeing the ostrich.  They have no concept of personal space (kinda like Macker, but that's a whole different story).  Anyway, so they must be starving all the time because they will do whatever it takes to get that food.  Like STICK THEIR HEAD IN YOUR CAR WINDOW.  Um, not ok with me.  Even when it's not in my window....still freaks me out.  But it was quite a hit with Travis (until it finally pushed the boundary of closeness).

wildlife ranch happy trav.jpgI also loved the longhorn.  He was so close to the car that I kept thinking "the second he turns is head just slightly either direction, the paint on my car is toast".  And we also got into a stare-down with some buffaloes (good thing I have spell check....wasn't planning on the "e" that sneaks in when you make "buffalo" plural).

Good times.  Now back to my week off (not really, for my clients waiting for stuff.....I promise!).  But I've got a party over here tonight and I really need to finish "moving in".  Nothing like hosting people at your house to make you finally hang stuff on the walls and unpack the boxes hiding under the dining table.
